Labour Day Weekend

Back again for another weekend of Madness!!!

This is the 29th year for our event and we’ve been changing with the times. Originally created to celebrate the long history of logging in our area, the fest was centred around crowd-pleasing loggers games. As it evolved we moved on to include the very popular Mud Dawgs and began to feature local artists and musicians who expressed the character of our locale and culture. In recent years the festive Labour Day Weekend event has moved from the logger’s field on to the main street. Local artists bring the street alive and many of our community spaces are given over to music, entertainment, demonstrations and activities. Join us as we celebrate our community here in the beautiful Highlands!

Stay tuned for a ‘mini-documentary’ about Maynooth Madness coming soon to our new ‘Stories’ page!!

Brighten the Night 2018

The 15th annual Brighten the Night Christmas parade & kids party is set for

Saturday, December 8th at 5p.m. in downtown Maynooth.

Earlier in the day Home Again Rescue are hosting a silent auction, micro-chipping, and pictures of your pet with Santa (2 to 3 p.m. only) 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. inside the Maynooth Community Centre (MCC).

Maynooth Farmers' Market will have 40 vendors inside Emond Hall and across the street inside the Arlington 11 a.m. till 6 p.m.

No preregistration is required to participate in the parade.  Just show up at 4 p.m. up into the Loggers Field for judging for 3 cash prizes of $75.00 for best floats.  The organizers request that there be only one Santa in the parade and that's ours.

Following the shortened parade route (ending at the MCC instead of the ANAF), a kid’s party with hot dogs and gift bags from Santa will be held from 6 pm till 6:30 p.m.

End the evening with a dance at the Arlington featuring Tich Maredza, Zimbabwe/Afro Jazz.

Doors open at 8 p.m.  $10 cover.
